Somebody got Punk’d alright…

Perfect weather. Sunshine mildly burning my skin. I guess it was ‘the’ time to have a swim in the river. Except that I didn’t want to. “I’ll be the photographer. You guys enjoy yourself.” That’s my excuse whenever my siblings or cousins persuaded me to join them, as I was equipped with my newly bought W800i camera phone I supposed. Gosh how I wish I could join them as I was standing by the pier watching them excitedly splashing themselves into the water.
* anti-gravity?

Well, I wasn’t the only one who didn’t fancy a swim in the river. As the rest of us were busy maneuvering some kind of stunts in the river, Doboson and Mel were there sitting doing nothing. (Since there were ten of us), they say ‘The more the merrier’, my brothers who were soaking wet came up with a cunningly wicked idea to throw them two asses into the river. One by one. I was told of this and can’t wait to snap them pictures..woohoo…it’s gonna be fun…
* Victim #1
First victim that fell to this ferocious plan was Doboson. I wondered how they gonna pulled or dragged his gigantic ass into the river. Long story short… when they ‘politely’ pushed him down into the river, he was grabbing this wooden structure that it was slightly shifted when they finally got him. You know we didn’t really see it coming.

Now the next lucky victim was his sis, Mel. She was easier since she is a girl with small frame. Thank God, she wasn’t built as heavy as her brother…phew. Down the river you go girl… and I tell you, watching them fallen to this plan was so much fun than watching WWE wrestlers whupping each other sorry ass. * Mel you're next

Almost half an hour later, just when I thought Punk’d was coming to an end… something happened. I was already walking my way back to the house when Janine, she came and asked me to pass her the shampoo. Which I did (Mistake #1). You know in the movies when people tell you when something big is coming your way, you have this funny instinct… well I kinda sensed that but just couldn’t figure out what (Mistake #2). As I stood there, I smelled something fishy was going on, when I noticed my siblings were at the pier wearing this hopeful expression on their faces. “What’s going on here? No… hopefully they are not doing this to me as wel…” before I could even completed that grammar-free sentence of mine, Janine was already there right in front of me, blocking my every chance of escaping routes. I tried to slowly retreat myself (Mistake #3) but found myself trapped in a corner!!! Well, she managed to fool me alright. As I was helplessly trapped like a kitten…err I mean like a lion… I heard their footsteps running up the house…oh no!

And so there I was, stripped of everything I have in my pocket, my wallet, my expensive phone, some `coins, some old receipts as I desperately hanging on to my very own survival…by grabbing whatever I could reach. All of my siblings and cousins were there in someway – ‘working their master plan’ on me… I could feel one of them grabbing my legs, my arms and you know what?! My aunts and other cousins where there too. Stood there by the door. I thought my aunts going to ask them to stop but instead she joined in…I repeat…she joined in and apparently went for my hands as she tried her best to have me released whatever I grabbing onto. Sigh…whatever IS TO HAPPEN to the Good Samaritans nowadays…
* all of us except me...
The house were chaotic in a good way lar… as virtually every member of the family were there to either watch me being ‘ruthlessly victimized’ in the friendliest way possible or gave my siblings and cousins some extra helping hands… about five minutes later or so, I finally let go, as they dragged me down to the river leaving the rest laughing like crazy. See, I wont go down without a final effort that at times I grabbed on to the wooden path on the pier (reminiscence of that Texas Chainsaw Massacre scene when the victim was scratching his nails on the wall…)…but you know it’s inevitable.

I was officially the third person thrown into the river…yeah! ??? Anyway, it was fun though… took so much effort to have me thrown into the river? I give that an A+…teamwork mar… let’s just say I was PUNK’d… sigh…
*and luckily the photos of me was nvr taken since they hv thrown the cameraman into the river instead...which err happen to b me...sigh...

vodka this, then wat?

That night we were having a BBQ, u know all that chicken wings plus that ham stick...aiyaya...yummy. Lighting up the charcoals, feeling the heat and the smoke getting in your eyes, that was not the fun part. While I was at it, my uncle, he kept serving me this simple cocktail of his - I kind of like it. I don’t know why but I keep urging for more. Sipping that colorless mixed-up vodka with a perfectly sliced lemon in it for every 10 minutes, I knew pretty well how I would end up - not degenerately wasted but tipsy, in a good way.

* err... just dont drink and drive

Before I even I realized it, my face was a bit pale and reddish. My couzs and aunts were there to witness how uncoordinated my movements were that they found it amusing. No worries, I got everything under control alright. With that I mean, i went seeking for the Smirnoff bottle myself when apparently my uncle forgot to serve it on time as he was pretty occupied talking with friends of his…hehe…you see a man need to do what he needs to do to keep the mind spinning mildly…sigh

It just that, I won’t be enjoying the BBQ sticks as much as when I’m sober. One thing that I should keep straight here, BBQing the ‘babi’ – that’s something I wont like to give up for any other meat. Tht’s so not debate-able. That’s that u know. Okay…gotta go…Really need to sleep…hopefully there’s no hangover in the morning…

a surprised eh?

evening time , we went to my mom's kampung which should be around 10 minutes drive away. once there, i think it was about 10 minutes later tht me and the siblings drop by my uncle house for this u know 'open house' visiting. Catching up with them cousins and of course, liqour is kind of a must these days, and later crashing by another house nearby. it was so whatpenning-whatpenning since it was tht obvious tht some couzs of mine, were drunk alright coz they cant seem to stop laughing.

******
later tht night my bro reminded us of this surprise bday gathering for Janine. and so we pretended tht we knew nuthing that when we hangout by the riverside, we kinda act as if there was nuthing coming up.

* doo...doo...doo...we know nuthing...

Later...u know lar, Surprise! u how bad i am with words...so all i can say is tht it was fun alright... most of the the relatives were there back in the house, singing the bday song not once but twice

* let's sing the B-day song now shall we?

back-to-kampung trip...how i long for it!!!

I was all excited as today we'll be making our way back to kampung somewhere in Dalat. Boarded the plane from Kuching to Sibu before we had our speedboat ride from Sibu.

*yup! the place where i used to grow up - Sibu!!! and in the b/ground - speedboat wharf; and notice tht Pagoda Temple?

Can't remember the last time I had that ride along the Rajang river (the longest river in Malaysia) ...I think it was about 10 or 12 years ago maybe...nvmnd! and the most craziest part of all...we passed thought this man-made river, Kut River (*Kut in Melanau means 'dig') which I think stretched for a few kilometers long. Must be the longest 'canal' in South East Asia...and yet nobody really mention (or care about) it...
We already at my kampung by noon...and one thing got me really confused, one of our relatives was leaving already...Uncle B and the family? Why is that so?! oh ya... his wife Phillis was there too, i don’t know why but I always picture her as the 'evil witch' ...yup the FooChow clan witch she is...sigh...x get me wrong I’m no racist - period. Never like her though...for the way she treated us when we were kid...and some more she like to compare me with her daughter, Vivian - academically i mean. Anyway, I’ve nothing against these two cousins of mine - they're so different than their mother - nice...sigh…well enough said…
At night, we had this gathering dinner as most of the relatives were here oledi (except for the rest of my family – still on their way you know). It was all fun lar…and liquor? Well not tonite though. But till then what was there for me to do while waiting for my family to arrive? Lemme think…there's sumthing else goin' on tonite...yup the live telecast of EPL match between Chelsea against...err tht's not important...coz i was sure tht Chelsea would win eventually...

* the one on the right most - my couz. He's one of those millions fans tht despise Chelsea...hmm i wonder why. is it due our team arrogance attitude? well sorry can't help it pal...

* i told u guys - Chelsea won!!! but heck...still waiting for them to come...sigh...

X'mas day itself...dum dum dum!!!

Hmm..the first day of X’mas! Wooohoo…I was all excited that I err woke up late today…as if it like any other day…around noon, family and friends start coming to the house for visiting and I think it was the perfect time to serve them some liquor baby!...

And the ‘best’ part was that I previously made only one invitation to some friends of mine to come over…and yup around 11p.m. the three of them – Jac, Ady and Mar came over the house… and so I have the excuse to open one of them liquor bottles, placed innocently under the X’mas tree – Jack Daniels…or was it Chivas?…

* our X'mas tree alight at the corner of the living room

Anyway… the house was practically an ‘Open House’ till late 4 o’clock in the morning as friends and sometimes relatives came by for the visiting (or maybe for those free booze?) non-stop. It was alright though… as a few bottle of liquor were emptied…hmmm not bad…

My soon to be Sister-in-law, X’mas Eve and X’mas presents!!!

Aha…today’s one of those most anticipated days right? Well…Janine, my bro fiancé was due to come anytime soon after such a long and tiring flight all the way from Newark Airport…whoa! (18 hours of flight and imagine that!!!). My parents and Andrison went to pick her up from the airport. You know it’s such a thrilling feeling that we were finally going to meet brother’s fiancé ...tick tick tick…

Almost noon and yup they finally back! I just didn’t know what or how to greet her that at a point I might have just do the lamest thing by simply say “Welcome to Malaysia!!!...” huh? Anyway as Andrison was introducing each of the family members, I just kept silence (and keep thinking of an idea tht never really came) but when it was my turn, she turned my way and when she was about to give me the warmest American hug, suddenly my hand stick out instead – both ended up shaking hand…oh man! I think that’s kinda awkward and odd thing to happen to err me...what an impression i made...sigh (somebody...anybody...hand me a gun so i can shoot at the neighbor's dog) haha…but anyhow she’s kinda lovely and sweet that I really think both of them are perfectly match … like what they always say over here ‘Like Penang fruit split in two’…hmmm that doesn’t sound rite eh? Well anyway what the heck…

*******

We were there at St Joseph Cathedral about half an hour earlier before the mass even started (at 11pm). And yet the church compounds were filled with them devotees…look like we’ll be standing outside the church anyhow – no matter what…sigh…

* the crowded church interior while we were outside standing instead

Met a few of my friends from the old-skoool of course (with their hubby and kids too) and surprisingly, Jac, the chic tht I hv a ******* ****** ********, and with err her sis? Or friends? Too bad we didn’t manage to strike any conversation but only with a typical friendly gesture from tht distance (for safety reason who knows)…I still find it funny though… :-)…
the grand altar and its aerial view
Anyway, I took a few step back as I tried to get the better view of my family praying together after such a long time… whoa…I was so grateful and glad u know… X’mas eve with all the loved ones around you…

*******

* the chapel at the south wing...
Back in the house, in the living room, err by the X’mas tree, it’s time for X’mas presents…woohoo! Well most of the gifts were from Andrison and Janine… well everyone got their present except for me and Moses…no bad feeling though because technically it was our fault in the first place since we were unable to make up our mind when my brother and fiancé were asking us what we want few weeks ago…BUT they said they will get us nonetheless…phew… and to make it even, me too didn’t have anything for them just as YET…hehe…

Ehemm…to top it all, Andrison got a little surprise for his beloved fiance (as we’re all waiting in silence) – a diamond ring yo!!! Janine was so touch that she had to wipe the tears from her eyes…and so they hug and kiss each other…wahhh..so romantic ya…mmm what a happy couple!...and and and…I still x have my present…hehe…

Man! how I love X’mas!!!

Camping?

it’s almost time to sleep when Andrison suggested that we should setup a camping tent outside the house instead. hmmm…never thought of that before but what the heck…just give it a try…

******

Man! Never thought that I’ll be spending the night outside of my own comfy room! Anyway setting up the tent was so much fun (never knew how to setup one really). And so we brought our own mattress and even the table fan too!

I'm flying home...

My flight is schedule today at three something in the evening. When I left the room, my bed still left broken by its side (I think I’ve been sleeping with my mattress on the floor for almost three weeks now….) just don’t know when I’ll get my time to fix it.

******

When I reached the airport, I was a bit surprised to find a very long queue which stretch all the way from the Airasia check-in counters to KLIA entrances…sigh…took me about 30 minutes to have my stuffs check-in.

******

Met up with my former lecturer who used to lecture us on Macroeconomic subjects (which I was pretty good at haha) back in the college years…Mr. John P. a soft spoken man with such an analytical mind…(well there was this topic that we had which really open up my mind)

******

Finally landed at the Kuching airport…I’m back…woohoo! And errg…my family, they didn’t even know that I’m back coz they actually were supposed to pick up my brother instead of me…nevermind lar just surprise them will do lar…

X'mas shopping...

Me and my bro have decided that today we gonna spent the whole day roaming the city browsing for things to buy for this coming X’mas seasons…woohoo! From Ikano/The Curve and all the way to Starhill…and man! It was so exhausting that when we got back, my bro had to cancel his plan of bringing me along with his buddies for a longing Saturday Nite outing…sigh…but really…I could barely lift and adjust my head on my pillow that the next morning my bro caught me snoring with his videocam! Oh yeah… I’m not the snoring kind of person but some scientific finding concludes that one will snore only when the body and minds really really exhausted…blar blar blar… just pleasssseeeeee….accept the reasoning coz I myself do find it’s true what!

5 years later

My brother was scheduled to arrive at KLIA later at noon. And it is an exciting day for me…didn’t see him for quite sometimes…yup five years to be exact… plus today’s gonna be my last day at the office before I leave all my workloads behind for a three weeks holiday…yeah?

Well before hand, need to brief Carlo, our new team member from Philippines on all of my projects because it might turns out that he may need to take over some of these projects…

Next? Counting the minutes to leave the office for KL Sentral…and guess what?! Five minutes before six, my project manager came looking for me (and she even knew where to find me – the pantry! Why? I was busy errgg…playing foosball haha). It’s seem that one of the project had cause some unwanted errors…damn!

Anyway, I managed to untangle myself out of the mess when I was informed that my senior would be the one to fix them as she’s the one who was directly involves with the project…wha a relief!

*******

Check the clock it’s already half past six and my brother was at the KL Sentral for way too long and I felt real bad that I rushed myself to the train station and i took me another 15 minutes to get there… oh yeah he mentioned that he’ll be at the Starbuck? Once there, all I need to do was to look for one stunningly good looking fella…and man! There he was…sitting with his feet on another chair as he was busy browsing thru his laptop…after 5 long years…I finally able to see him again…miss you much bro!
